5 Products To Keep Your Skin Hydrated This Winter

Whether we like it or not, winter is underway! Unfortunately, with winter comes cold wind and dry air that can bring even the most balanced skin to its knees. When your skin is so fragile, it's best to put away the detoxing and clarifying products and to get into the moisturizing ingredients, big time. While we, of course, would like you to stop by for us to give you a more personalized recommendation for your skin, below are five products that are a great start.

1. Lavender Honey Balancing Mist from Naturopathica

"Your skin needs to stay hydrated to function properly and protect your skin. If it is not getting it from moisturizing options then it must produce oil to compensate," our Skin Therapist Gina P. tells us. "This can lead to skin that presents oily and/or breakouts easily. This is why we recommend balancing products to reestablish a balanced lipid barrier. Balanced moisture and oil, happy skin." Asking your moisturizer to cover you for the whole day is a lot to ask. Using a mist gives your skin a nice top up throughout the day for some extra support. Plus, it feels so luxurious to do a little spritz at your desk.

2. Ormedic Balancing Lip Enhancement from Image Skincare

A client favorite, this lip balm has avocado in it which has super hydrating properties and because there is no alcohol in it, it won't result in a need for constant reapplying. "I don't want to be dramatic but this is the best lip balm. I'm obsessed with it and can promise that it will keep your lips happy all winter long. That is an Ashley S. promise," our Skin Therapist, Ashley S. says excitedly.

3. Hydra-Restore Cream Cleanser with Olive Leaf & Plantago from Grown Alchemist

"I love this cream cleanser. It's so soothing. Even though it's a gentle cleanser, it's still really effective at getting the skin nice and clean. It's very concentrated so a little goes a long way," our Skin Therapist, Juli F. says. The added benefit of a good cream cleanser: it won't strip your skin or leave it feeling as squeaky clean as a gel cleanser.

4. Gotu Kola Healing Balm from Naturopathica

This balm is everything you've ever wanted. Gotu Kola has long been used in India to help with sensitivity and extreme dryness. It's a great ingredient for when your skin is dryer than you ever believed possible. "You can use it everywhere, from your toes to your scalp," our Skin Therapist Ramnit B. says. Just make sure to give the bottle a bit of a shake and then slather yourself in it.

5. Ormedic Balancing Bio-Peptide Creme from Image Skincare

You might have noticed a trend here. Image Skincare's balancing line is a skin-saver. This cream contains peptides which will actually restore your skin's natural hydration giving it a "you can do it!" boost of confidence. When asked about this cream, our Skin Therapist Alexis S. was so excited to share. "Okay, this cream is my favorite! It's transformed my skin. It's reversed signs of damage and scars, it's kept the balance and hydration in my skin during even the coldest of months, and it smells so good."
