Blue Tansy Resurfacing Mask

The Lowdown

This clarifying mask is great for skin that is prone to breaking out, as the antibacterial, anti-inflammatory ingredients won't inflame conditions. It provides nurturing ingredient after nurturing ingredient, loading your skin up with a defensive team that will prevent you from drying out or becoming irritated. Who wouldn't benefit from a good defense?

Many products, like this one, can be used as an overnight spot treatment on a blemish to help dry it out and move it along quicker. Pack a small container and keep it in your toiletry bag for your emergency zit kit when traveling.

How we use it

Put on as little as you can to cover clean skin. Leave on for 10-15 minutes and rinse with warm water. If your skin is more sensitive, lessen the time to 5-10 minutes. Use 1-2 times per week, or as recommended by your Skin Therapist. We recommend using this at night as you shouldn't use AHA or BHA products when you're going to be headed into the sun.

What to expect

Slight tingling is normal with this mask. When it dries it will start to feel like the lightest bit of saran wrap and that tightness will let you know that it's done.

I love how effective it is for sensitized skin. It really helped me personally clear up my congestion, while tackling my dehydration and sensitization.

Back of the Bottle

  • Blue Tansy (Azulene)

Blue Tansy essential oil's vivid, deep blue color develops when the chemical constituent chamazulene is formed during the steam distillation process. Chamazulene is an excellent anti-inflammatory agent, making Blue Tansy a helpful ingredient for breakout-prone skin. And yes, that blue is natural! 🔵

  • Willow Bark

Willow Bark Extract is ideal for reducing inflammation and associated redness, with the bonus of possibly having an antimicrobial effect. Although Willow Bark Extract contains salicin, a chemical precursor to Salicylic Acid, it is not actually Salicylic Acid or a Salicylic Acid substitute. 💡

  • Papaya Fruit Extract

Papaya contains papain, an enzymatic exfoliator that works on the surface of the skin, gently dissolving the dead skin cell buildup that traps sebum and dirt on the skin to clog follicles.
