journalWhy We're Not All About The Hush-Hush at Heyday
Charcoal masks are just about everywhere now, but few offer the soothing ingredients that One Love Organics' does. It works like a magnet to draw out impurities and debris, and then deposits moisture with cupuacu butter. It's a combination that many detox masks don't offer.
We recommend this for
If you're someone who produces excess oil, which leads to a lot of congestion, build-up, and breakouts.
A great detoxing mask that doesn't leave skin feeling dry. Best for thicker and oily skins. The activated charcoal in this mask will draw out impurities, while the rose clay absorbs oil. This *does* feel a little active, so sometimes there is a little flush to the skin when using this mask. It also hydrates with cupuacu oil and aloe vera, so all that detoxing will not leave your skin feeling like the Sahara Desert.
How we use it
Firstly, we recommend that you not use this on the same day you exfoliant. Apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin. Leave the mask on for 10–15 minutes, or as directed by your Skin Therapist. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and then follow with a moisturizer.
What to expect
The product will dry on your skin; you might be slightly blush after use. If concerned about a reaction, do a patch test first.
Great for an all over detox mask or overnight spot treatment. Activated charcoal draws out bacteria, helping you to achieve a flawless complexion and control blemishes. Cupuacu butter contains essential fatty acids, which helps promote elasticity and hydration. Love this one!
Back of the Bottle
Cupuacu Butter is a soft, creamy butter that is pressed from the seeds of the cupuacu tree, native to the Amazon. Containing plant sterols and Linolenic Acid, an omega-3 essential fatty acid, Cupuacu Butter is remarkably moisturizing and is especially well-suited for mature and severely dry skin. 💦
Kaolin Clay, the mildest of all clays, is used to gently cleanse and exfoliate the skin.
Willow Bark Extract is ideal for reducing inflammation and associated redness, with the bonus of possibly having an antimicrobial effect. Although Willow Bark Extract contains salicin, a chemical precursor to Salicylic Acid, it is not actually Salicylic Acid or a Salicylic Acid substitute. 💡
