How should I care for my skin after Dermaplaning?
We’re all done, you did great! Dermaplaning is an exfoliating treatment and it’s normal for your skin to feel a bit dry or tight for the next few days. To keep your skin happy, remember to treat it gently by following the guidelines below:
Things To Expect
Pore detoxing or “purging” can happen to the best of us!
Your treatment can help to loosen debris that’s been trapped below a buildup of dead skin cells. Any small breakouts you may experience shouldn’t linger (and you may see few to none at all!).
Things To Do & Not Do
Activities such as swimming, hot yoga, sauna, steam rooms, sports and/or strenuous exercise should be avoided for the next 2-3 days.
The day of treatment you should cleanse the skin with a gentle, hydrating cleanser followed by a hydrating moisturizer. Keep the skin hydrated.
Discontinue the use of any exfoliating products, topical prescriptions, or actives like Benzoyl Peroxide for 1 week post facial.
Wait a minimum of 1 week before scheduling any waxing or threading services.
Avoid prolonged and direct sun exposure, tanning beds and tanning lotions for 1 week post facial. We always recommend that you use a broad-spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunblock (SPF 30 or greater) when exposed to the sun.
If possible, avoid applying makeup directly after your facial - and always make sure to use clean applicators when doing so.
