FAQ
We can't wait to meet you! You can either book an appointment online or call the studio location you're interested in.
Heyday has locations all across the United States. To look us up by state, visit here.
Your card won’t be charged until after your facial. However, we keep it on file in case of no-shows or late cancellations (within 24 hours of your appointment start time), in which case your card will be charged $25). If you are a member or have a gift card, your credit card will only be charged for any remaining balance after your benefit or gift card has been applied to your service.
Each studio has different hours, which can be found here, or by Google search.
If it's more than 24 hours before your appointment, you can cancel or adjust your time slot by logging in to our website and cancelling and then rescheduling a new appointment, or by calling the studio where you booked. If it's within 24 hours of your appointment, please give us a call at the studio where you booked. Please note that in this case, we have a $25 cancellation and no-show fee. You can view our full Product & Service Policies here.
You can book as far as 12 months in advance! We recommend booking in advance if you'd like to request a specific Esthetician or are looking for an evening or weekend appointment (our most popular times). But, we also accept walk-ins based on availability.
We do! Refer your friends for $40 off their first Heyday facial. You’ll receive $20 in your account once your friend gets their first facial, and another $20 if they join as a member. You must first sign up to get a unique link to share with your friends, and ask them to use your link to get a promo code to use when booking their facial. Learn more and get started on our Refer A Friend webpage here.
Both digital and physical gift cards can be redeemed online or in-studio for facials, enhancements and retail products. If used for a facial, we require a credit card when booking an appointment, but you will not be charged at the time of booking. Simply bring your gift card with you to your facial and it will be applied at check-out after your appointment.
If you're interested in becoming a member, you may use a gift card towards your first membership payment, but a valid credit or debit card is required for all future membership payments.
For groups of 4 or more, please contact the studio you’re interested in visiting or email us at hello@heydayskincare.com, to discuss availability and whether you’d like to pay separately or together. We ask for a 50% deposit upfront. A 20% gratuity will be added the day of your appointments. You can cancel up to 4 days before your appointment with no charge, however after that you will be charged the full price of booking. We stagger appointment times a bit to keep things flowing smoothly, but we’ll do our best to keep your group close together.
In order to best support our studio teams and clients, our pricing is relative to the cost of doing business in each region. This helps us to pay our staff competitively and keep our high standard of service in every shop across the country.
For at least 3 days beforehand, avoid exfoliants, active ingredients, topical prescriptions, and facial waxing. We don’t use steamers, but please note that false lashes or microbladed brows may still be affected. If you have facial hair, skip shaving the day of your appointment.
Most importantly, be open with your Esthetician about your skincare routine, recent treatments, and goals. There’s no wrong answer—your honesty helps us create the best experience for you.
One facial can leave your skin glowing, but lasting transformation comes with consistency. Since skin cells renew roughly every 28 days, we recommend monthly facials to keep your complexion clear, balanced, and continuously improving over time.

Our Essential Facial is safe for those who are pregnant or nursing, and our Estheticians are specially trained to know which ingredients and techniques to avoid. Because every body (and every doctor’s advice) is unique, we encourage you to check with your physician for their specific recommendations. When booking, include any notes from your doctor and let us know about ingredients you’d prefer to skip.
This form helps us understand your skin history and treatment preferences so we can deliver the most personalized experience possible. We highly recommend completing it online before your visit—so when you arrive, we can check you in, show you around, and maximize your time with your Esthetician.
Not until the scab has fully shed and the skin beneath has completely healed. Facial massage movements can aggravate an active or healing cold sore and, in some cases, spread it to the eye area—both of which pose serious risks. For that reason, our Estheticians follow strict guidelines to protect your safety. If you currently have a sore, continue your at-home skincare routine and focus on hydration so your skin is ready for your next facial.
Yes! We love animals just as much as we love great skincare. Our proprietary Heyday Pro products—used in every facial—are completely cruelty-free, as are the brands we partner with and sell at retail.
First and foremost, we’re not a spa. You’re more likely to hear Stevie Nicks than pan flutes, and there’s no robe required. But comfort’s still part of the experience—kick off your shoes and settle in.
What truly sets us apart is our deeply customized approach. Every facial is powered by our proprietary, professional-grade products, crafted to be mixed and matched to address your skin’s unique needs. Your Esthetician will tailor each step to your unique skin—so you leave glowing today, and with a plan for long-term skin transformation.

Every location also features a curated menu of Enhancements—targeted add-ons you can include for an additional cost. Your Esthetician will walk you through the options at the start of your appointment to create the most customized treatment for your skin.
Children have delicate skin that's in a constant state of growth and flux. To keep young skin safe, we don't perform facials on anyone 14 years old or under, and recommend seeing a dermatologist for any serious skin issues. Anyone between the ages of 15 and 17 will need a parent or guardian to fill out and sign an intake form, either online before the appointment or in-person at your local Heyday. The parent or guardian does not need to stay for the duration of the facial.
For your first visit, we kindly ask that you arrive at least 15 minutes early to check in, review your intake form, tour the studio, and get settled before your customized facial.
We understand life happens—if you’re running late, please call the studio where you’re booked. We’ll do our best to accommodate you within 10 minutes of your scheduled start time with a slightly shortened treatment. Unfortunately, arrivals more than 10 minutes late can’t be accommodated, and a $25 late cancellation fee will apply.
Please reschedule your facial if you have had Botox, fillers, chemical peels, or a skin procedure such as microneedling, microblading, dermaplaning, laser resurfacing, or laser hair removal within 2 weeks prior to your appointment.
We treat all skin types and tones. Our Estheticians are trained to address a wide range of concerns, including sensitization, inflammation, acne (blckheads, papules, pustules, breakouts), pigmentation, signs of aging, dehydration, and seasonal skin changes.
We do not perform extractions on milia (which require a lancet) or treat anything that calls for a dermatologist’s medical expertise. Please note, we don’t diagnose skin conditions—but we’re here to help you care for them safely and effectively.
We accept all major credit and debit cards. At this time, we are unable to support internal cards from outside of the U.S. or HSA debit cards, though we hope to be able to do so in the future!
Instead of steam machines, we use a warm steam compress paired with facial massage and oil pulling to gently relax pores and soften the skin—allowing for effective extractions without irritation or damage.
While traditional steamers are common, they can actually dehydrate the skin and cause pores to tighten as soon as the steam stops. Our method keeps the skin balanced and comfortable throughout your treatment.
It's crucial to tell your Esthetician about your allergies, medications (both oral and topical), and health conditions—even if they don't seem like they'd have to do with your skin. We also ask that you let them know if you have recently had any procedures (i.e. fillers, botox), surgeries, or if you are or expect you might be pregnant.
Yes! You can apply makeup after your facial, but we recommend being extra mindful about cleanliness to protect the benefits of your treatment. Clean brushes and applicators are always your best friend!
Our facials are very safe, so you'll be able to go right back to your activities. That being said, we don't recommend exercising immediately after facials in which you've received Microdermabrasion or a Peel. Please follow any post-care guidance that your Esthetician provides for advanced services or Enhancements.
While tipping is optional, 20% of the service cost (products not included) is standard for beauty services. You’re welcome to leave your gratuity in cash or on your card at checkout, and 100% of the gratuity goes directly to your Esthetician.
Although we aim to make our checkout process as streamlined as possible, we totally get that post-facial haze. If you forget to check out after your service, we'll process your credit card on file (or your membership benefit).
Dermaplaning is a gentle, no-downtime exfoliation performed with a specialized tool designed for the face. Held at a precise angle, the tool carefully removes dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (peach fuzz) from the surface, leaving skin smoother, brighter, and perfectly prepped for serums and makeup.
Dermaplaning can be safely performed every 4 weeks in conjunction with your routine facial appointment.
Discontinue use of Retin-A or other exfoliating topical prescriptions for 3 days before treatment. Terminal hair (thicker, coarser hair) can be removed through tweezing prior to dermaplaning treatment.
Facial hair comes in two types:
- Vellus hair: The fine, soft hair that naturally grows on the face.
- Terminal hair: Thicker, coarser hair typically found on the scalp, underarms, groin, or in cases of hormonal conditions like PCOS or Endometriosis.
Dermaplaning removes vellus hair, which will grow back gradually over the normal 4–6 week hair cycle. Vellus hair cannot turn into terminal hair from Dermaplaning, though hormones can affect hair growth patterns. Dermaplaning is not recommended over areas with terminal hair.
For best results, any terminal hairs in the treatment area should be removed via tweezing, threading, or waxing at least one week before your Dermaplaning session.
- Since the laser energy is attracted to pigment in the hair - and therefore it will limit the effectiveness of the laser (beards and peach fuzz alike). We recommend shaving the day prior, dermaplaning 1-3 days prior, and waxing 1 week prior to your laser appointment.
- Laser facials can result in the permanent reduction of hair on the face - if this is something that concerns you, please discuss with your Laser Specialist so they can develop the right treatment plan for you.
Right now, no. The Laser Spot Treatment is only available as an add-on enhancement to The Elite Laser Facial.
Follow the same protocol as you would for The Elite Laser Facial. (See above). In addition, be aware that it is normal for some pigmented areas to darken immediately after the Laser Spot Treatment. These areas will become rough to the touch and will fall off within 7-21 days.
Do not pick at the skin or exfoliate; this may cause further pigmentation and lessen desired results.
You’ll mainly feel a gentle warmth as the laser moves across your skin. This may feel stronger on thinner areas (like the forehead or nose) or where there’s hair, breakouts, or pigmentation. You might occasionally notice a light “snap” sensation when the laser passes over peach fuzz or pigmented hair. Throughout your treatment, your Laser Specialist will check in and adjust settings as needed to reach the optimal heat level for visible results.
You should not receive a Laser Facial if you:
- Are currently taking or have recently taken certain medications, including:
- Accutane (within the past 6 months)
- Systemic steroids or recent antibiotics
- Prescription anticoagulants or immunosuppressants
- Gold therapy (oral or injected)
- Have certain medical conditions, including:
- Impaired immune function
- Active eczema, rosacea, psoriasis, or dermatitis
- History of skin cancer, lupus, vitiligo, or seizure disorders
- Are pregnant or trying to conceive (including IVF)
- Have had any of the following within the past 2 weeks:
- Botox or filler injections
- Chemical peels
- Microblading or microneedling
- Have had recent sun exposure, tanning, or self-tanner:
- Within 1 week – not a candidate for the Elite Laser Facial
- Within 4 weeks – not a candidate for the Laser Spot Treatment
Most skin concerns see optimal results after 4–8+ treatments, depending on your Fitzpatrick skin type. Your Laser Specialist will create a customized plan based on your skin’s needs.
We track your Skintel® readings, laser settings, and skin responses in your treatment records, allowing us to work progressively and safely for maximum, long-term results.
The Skintel® Melanin Reader™ provides a comprehensive reading of the melanin present in the skin to determine your Fitzpatrick skin type. Based on this reading, your Laser Specialist can calibrate settings for a safe and effective treatment.
We use the Cynosure Elite iQ, a dual-wavelength system to offer our two laser services. For the Elite Laser Facial, we use the Elite IQ’s 1064 nm ND:YAG wavelength. For the Laser Spot Treatment, our laser adjusts to the Alexandrite 755 nm wavelength.
- Discontinue use of any active exfoliants, Rx topicals, or ingredients such as retinol or benzoyl peroxide for a minimum of 1 week.
- Avoid the use of sunless tanning lotions for a minimum of 1 week prior to your Laser Facial.
- Avoid scheduling/receiving any cosmetic procedures such as botox, fillers, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, microneedling, or microblading for at least 2 weeks prior.
It depends on the individual and the skin concern. Some skin conditions can be improved or resolved with laser treatments so that they do not return. Specifically, lesions treated with the Laser Spot Treatment are not likely to return. However, some skin conditions can reappear due to natural processes and outside influences. Your Laser Specialist will be able to advise how long results are expected to last based on skin type/conditions.
- During the first few hours following your Laser Facial, you may experience tightness or redness. (It might feel like a mild sunburn). This normally subsides the same day of treatment.
- You may notice that some pigmented areas have darkened, or have become rough to the touch. If so, avoid picking at the skin or exfoliating. These spots will fall off after about a week.
- After your treatment, your skin will be more sensitive and delicate than usual. We recommend keeping your routine as simple as possible and treating your skin with some serious TLC.
- Avoid swimming, hot yoga, sauna, steam rooms, and strenuous exercise for a minimum of 2-3 days following treatment, or until any redness or irritation has cleared.
- Do not perform any hair removal to the treated areas for at least one week post-treatment.
- Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and sunless tanning lotions throughout the course of your treatment. Use a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sunblock (SPF 30 or greater) when exposed to the sun.
- Avoid scheduling cosmetic procedures during the course of your overall treatment.
- On the day of treatment, use a gentle, hydrating cleanser followed by a hydrating moisturizer. Your skin is still in a delicate space, so apply and remove all products as gently as possible.
- For one week post-treatment, discontinue use of any exfoliating products, active ingredients such as Retinol, Vitamin C, Benzoyl Peroxide, or any other topical prescriptions on your bathroom shelf.
- You can resume your regular skincare routine one week after treatment as long as there is no redness or irritation.
- If there’s any swelling or redness, you can take acetaminophen.
- If there is any sign of blistering or infection (tenderness or pus), please contact a physician immediately.

Our certified Laser Specialists perform all Elite Laser Facials and Laser Spot Treatments. Each is a licensed Esthetician who has completed extensive training in laser science, safety, and device protocols through both our manufacturer and Heyday.
Every Laser Specialist completes 25 hours of advanced laser training before performing treatments.
If you choose the First Time Laser Facial, you’ll begin by meeting your Heyday Laser Specialist. They will review your intake form, assess your skin, determine your Fitzpatrick type using The Skintel® Melanin Reader™, and do a single pass with the laser to see how your skin reacts. This includes a test patch of the 755 nm Alexandrite wavelength to see if you’re a candidate for the Laser Spot Treatment. Once this has been done, your specialist will come up with a personalized treatment plan. You will go home with detailed instructions that will outline your personalized treatment plan, as well as guidance for how to care for your skin post-treatment.
The Elite Laser Facial uses the 1064 nm wavelength laser, which is suitable for all skin types and tones. This facial aims to provide total skin rejuvenation, passing over your entire face vs. isolated, targeted treatment. The Laser Spot Treatment is designed to target issues like hyperpigmentation, tone, texture, and signs of aging.
During a comprehensive consultation with your Laser Specialist, this service is completely customized based on the Skintel® Melanin Reader™ and your overall goals. Optimal results are achieved in 4-8 treatments spaced 3-6 weeks apart.
Every Essential Facial begins with a comprehensive skin analysis and a double cleanse, followed by a treatment fully tailored to your skin’s needs. Depending on what your skin is asking for, your facial may include:
- Exfoliation
- Facial massage
- Extractions
- Masking
- Finishing steps (toner, serum, moisturizer, sunscreen, lip balm)
To further optimize your results, we also offer Enhancements—targeted add-on treatments available at an additional cost. These don’t add extra time to your facial but do deliver extra impact.
For at least 3 days beforehand, avoid exfoliants, active ingredients, topical prescriptions, and facial waxing. We don’t use steamers, but please note that false lashes or microbladed brows may still be affected. If you have facial hair, skip shaving the day of your appointment.

Unfortunately, we do not accept gift cards for any membership payment as we require a valid credit or debit card for all recurring payments. Gift cards can instead be used toward additional facials, Enhancements, and product purchases (in-store and online) and do not expire.
The goal of membership is consistency in order to keep your skin healthy and glowing. That said, we understand life gets busy! Your facial benefit stays on your account for 3 months, so you have that time period to use it. You can also turn the value of a membership facial benefit into a gift card of the same value, or gift the facial to a friend or family member.
If you are heading on vacation or just need a couple of months off, we also offer the ability to pause your membership for up to 3 months per year. That can be 3 consecutive months or separate occasions that add up to a total of 3 months per year. The same 3-month policy applies to both monthly and bimonthly members. For any of these options, all you need to do is fill out the Membership Adjustment Form or reach out to your studio and we'll take care of the rest.
Our members receive exclusive discounts on facials, Enhancements, and products, a birthday gift, rewards for sticking to their skincare routines, access to members-only events and partnerships, and other valuable benefits. See our Membership Page for more information on our membership perks and terms. Ready to join? To join as a monthly member, you can enroll online when you book an appointment, sign up for a membership here if you already have your next facial booked, or sign up in person on the day of your facial. To sign up as a bimonthly member, you must sign up in person at the studio.

We currently only ship within the United States but we hope to offer international shipping soon!
Orders typically ship within 1-3 business days of placement. Kindly note that we do not process or ship orders over the weekend or on major holidays. Transit and delivery time may be extended due to inclement weather or general carrier delays and we are unable to completely guarantee a delivery date.
Please note that once your order ships, it can sometimes take the carrier 1-2 days to update their tracking information. If your tracking has still not updated after 3 days, please email us at hello@heydayskincare.com and we'll be happy to help track it down.
If your tracking number shows your order has been delivered but you have not received it, please wait 24 hours as we sometimes hear of packages being delivered up to 1 day after a delivery notification is originally received, or having been misdelivered to a nearby address. If after that time, your package has still not turned up, email us at hello@heydayskincare.com and we'll be happy to assist in a resolution. If a replacement order is needed, we may require a signature upon delivery for the replacement and/or a new address for shipping.
Definitely. We're a team of animal lovers and don't support testing on animals. Every brand we stock is cruelty-free and some are also Leaping Bunny certified: Naturopathica, Ursa Major, and our Heyday Pro products, to name a few.
Online orders are shipped via DHL or UPS and may be transferred to USPS for last-mile delivery. Orders with a pre-discounted value of $250 or above will require a signature upon delivery. Return requests will be provided with a pre-paid USPS label.
Unfortunately we cannot make changes to an order after it’s placed. We are happy to explain your options depending what you would like to do, so if you need help with your order, you can email us at hello@heydayskincare.com.
You'll receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking link when your order ships. Please note, it can sometimes take the carrier 1-2 days to update their tracking information. If your tracking has not updated after 3 days, please email us at hello@heydayskincare.com and we'll be happy to help track it down.
We're very sorry to hear that! Please take photos of the damaged product(s) and/or packaging and email us at hello@heydayskincare.com and we'll resolve it ASAP.
We accept all major U.S. credit and debit cards. At this time, we are unable to accept cards from outside of the U.S. or HSA debit cards, though we hope to be able to do so in the future!
Friend of the year status? Check. The best way to gift a facial is by purchasing a gift card. We offer both physical and digital gift cards which can be used online and in-studio: check out our options here. Kindly note that gift cards are final sale and non-refundable.
Pro tip: if you’re gifting a facial, we recommend covering the base price plus any applicable state tax, and a 20% gratuity to treat your recipients to the full experience. The price of an Essential Facial (our most common, available at all Heyday studios) is $140-155 depending on location. For exact pricing, please reach out to your local studio.
Unfortunately, we do not accept gift cards for any membership payment as we require a valid credit or debit card for all recurring payments. Gift cards can instead be used toward additional facials, Enhancements, and product purchases (in-store and online) and do not expire.
Not to worry, your gift card is still valid to use. Your gift card can be applied as a dollar amount towards any facial, Enhancement or product. Any outstanding balance not covered by the gift card can be paid via credit or debit card, or if you have extra value on your gift card, you can use it toward another facial. You may also use your gift card for Enhancements, in-studio and online product purchases, and even gratuity.
Kindly note that we require a credit card when booking for security purposes, but no payment is collected at that time. After your appointment, your credit card will only be charged if there is a remaining balance after your gift card has been applied, or if we need to charge a no-show or late cancellation fee (we don't want that either!).
Simply bring your gift card or the code for it with you and we will apply it to your appointment. We hope to see you soon!
Gift cards do not expire and can be used online or in-shop.
