Q+A With Aniee S., Tribeca
What inspired you to become a Skin Therapist?
I say this to my clients all the time: It chose me. I grew up doing skincare as a weekend activity with my family. Me becoming an esthetician is a culmination of my several years in customer service as well as my love of making others feel beautiful, inside and out. Skincare was a core part of my childhood, and just happened to fit right in with the rest of my passions.
What's your favorite part of what you do as a Heyday Skin Therapist?
I love getting to know my clients. If I feel comfortable enough, I try to ask them what their zodiac sign is and carry the fun of the conversation from there. I also love doing extractions! If my client comes in needing some serious extraction action, it becomes the highlight of my day.
What are your main goals when working with your clients?
Help them de-stress and clear up any skincare concerns they have!
Do you have a favorite enhancement to perform?
Chemical peels are a quick way to target my clients' oily-to-acneic skin concerns. I can usually see an instant reduction in breakout activity.
What is your all-time favorite product?
Eminence Stone Crop Hydrating Mist! It's the best smelling toner we have and it amazingly hydrates and tones even the most sensitive of skin types. I spritz it on right before I apply serum and moisturizer; it's honestly a refreshing hug for your face!
If you could go back and tell your 18-year-old self something about skincare, what would you say?
Stop sleeping with makeup on.
What do you like to do when you're not giving facials?
I dive deep into astrology and astrocartography. Manifestation is a huge part of my life and I suggest everyone make it a part of their lifestyle. I also love researching luxury experiences, everything from real estate to over-the-top vacation experiences intrigue me.
It’s your last 24 hours in NYC —how are you spending the day?
Walk the Brooklyn Bridge or the High Line.
What 3 words would your friends use to describe you?
Confident, nurturing, talkative.
