Q+A With HoliFrog Co-Founder Majeed Hemmat
Q: What inspired you to start HoliFrog?
A: We're two beauty veterans that created a brand for people looking for products that benefit the skin's heath.
Q: What’s your "hero" product?
A: We currently have eight products in our line and happy to say all are Hero products as each product targets a certain need and perfect for all skin types. Galilee Antioxidant Dewy Drop has become our top seller as it's our first non-wash item. It's a hydration hybrid serum that drenches and repairs the skin — without any excess filler ingredients. It’s a restoring serum that boasts antioxidants, vitamins, gentle exfoliants, non-fragrant plant oils and extracts. Shasta which is our AHA Refining Acid Wash is a cleansing serum and is our top selling cleanser globally.
Our skin is an organ that needs different ingredients to thrive at different times. Having a one-and-done routine or product for your skin definitely doesn't work anymore, so you have to make the call as to what it needs based on what you’re doing in it at the time.
Q: What's the most important thing you want people to know about HoliFrog?
A: Skincare doesn’t begin and end once you’ve figured out your skin type. Skin types aren’t static — so many external and internal changes can affect how your skin behaves and what it needs. In fact, your skin reserves the right to switch types when it pleases. And the best strategies begin with understanding the situation. That’s why we create products to handle whatever situation may arise, not just skin type.
This is where our philosophy, “Situational Skincare,” comes in which means using the right products that depend on your skin's current situation. Each individual's skin has different needs depending on that day, the time of day, environmental stressors, geography, climate, and life changes. It's about taking care of your skin's needs as they come up, and they can change daily so you should tailor your routine accordingly.
It's good to have the right serums, moisturizers, and a wardrobe of cleansers with different properties, strengths, benefits, and consistencies to benefit the skin’s health. Remember our skin is an organ that needs different ingredients to thrive at different times. Having a one-and-done routine or product for your skin definitely doesn't work anymore, so you have to make the call as to what it needs based on what you’re doing in it at the time.
